Surely (nb4 "don't call me Shirely"), I can't imagine anyone logically considering buying a 5 or more year old receiver over the shiney newish SR8002.

I have the RX-V3800, I think it's a great receiver with a lot of connectivity options. Both receivers are bound to be great.
