I love this little receiver...the sound coming from it is stunning in my opinion. The component video is just as nice.........however.......having said that I must pause.
I recently bought the Nintendo Wii and the cables provided were composite. Blech. I plugged it into the back of the receiver and sure enough, up it went to the component out and to the tv.
Horrible. The lettering in the menu for the wii looks as if it had been influenced by super magnets. All washed out. I also noticed a bad transition between an s-video connection with my ps2.
So what gives? Does the marantz handle video upscaling poorly? Is it my mk5000II monster power conditioner? All my power lines are away from the optical side so it's not that.
