Marantz SR7002 PCM question

Hello.

Anyone Know how I can Disable PCM or enable the surround speakers when playing audio cd. I have Marantz SR7002.
SR7002 seems to have this auto detect that will only play from front channels when playing radio, cd or tv. When I press DTS or dobly on the system? it just change the sound abit on the front channels. ICON still showing 2 front channels playing only and "PCM" is indicated when playing audio cd.
Surround work fine when playing movie. The system seems to have auto detect.

Please help!

Hit the "surround mode" button until it says "M-CH music"

PCM is the signal it is receiving. You can enable surround modes and DSP modes while PCM is being received. Dolby Pro Logic II modes are available for 2 channel PCM as well as DTS-NEO modes. DSP modes are proprietary to the receiver and will include certain multichannel stereo and ambience type modes to alter the listening experience.

On your Marantz remote there is a button that can enable different surround and DSP modes. The 3/Surround button is what you will need to press to cycle through different sound modes. In my personal experience I've found the experience from 2 speakers from a 2 channel source (such as a CD) to be more enjoyable when listened to with just 2 speakers and maybe a subwoofer if necessary. I've experimented with surround modes added to 2 channel PCM and I always end up back at 2 channel instead of surround modes. What you enjoy could largely depend on the speakers you have and how they are setup.

I though the "M-CH" = "multi-channel". And "Multi channel" is for 2nd room. I will try tonight.

That's the "multi" and "multi speaker" buttons. Pressing the "surround" button until you get "M-CH audio" puts 2-channels through all speakers. Please refer to the user manual page 62-63 that I linked to for more details.
