Marantz SR6400....? Saw this on a website and figured it was a typo, but who knows, not me....Never heard of this model anyone else? I'm confused, could be another possibility for my new receiver if the specs are decent.

Marantz SR-6400

Yes,

The SR-6400 does exists. I don't know why Marantz doesn't have it listed as one of their products on their website anymore but there is such a thing as a 6400. Until recently, Marantz didn't list the SR-8400 on their website either, despite the fact that it is only a little over a year old and was 2nd from the top of line next to their flagship SR-9300. Go figure!

Spiffyfast, you had given me some help over in the Beginners Forum. In your sig, I just noticed your "soon to be" system components -- looks like we're on similar paths. Anyways, I had very seriously considered the Paradigms you've listed -- just wondering your thoughts on them? Have you been able to audition them? How do you expect they'd compare to the Mordaunt-Short 500's?

I thought the monitor series speakers sounding phenomenal when I went to listen to them at the shop, amazing highs and great midbass. I listened to Green Day and some ACDC to see how rock sounded on them, not what most would call auditioning music, but its the typeI listen to and am familiar with. Blew me away, the music had never sounded that good, even in 3,000 car systems I've had which I thought were great music wise. Cant say anything about the MS because I haven't actually heard them, but I've heard good things, I just know that I loved the sound of Paradigm and in my book ya can't beat it for the money, save axiom, but I just can't buy something with out hearing it first, even if I can return within a certain amount of time, but shipping on a whole surround system has got be outrageous.
