Marantz sr5002 to Sony Bravia

Just hooked up my new Marantz SR 5002 to a Sony Bravia 52XBR4 using HDMI cables (out from DVR/Cable Box to input on 5002, then out 5002 to input on Sony). No picture, no sound. The TV worked fine with HDMI hook-up directly from the DVR/Cable Box to the TV, but when I put the Marantz in the loop there was no signal. I checked both HDMI cables and they work OK hooked directly from the cable box to the TV. Any suggestions for this newbie?

Did you assign the inputs on the Marantz? You have to tell it which input selector on the front goes with which HDMI input on the back. That's usually the first issue one has to get around.

Marantz is usually pretty easy

You 5002 HJs multiple inputs and usually it is pretty flawless. Make sure the HDMI inputi s the same as you have on selected on the Matanz. Before you panic change your selctor input it is very possible you are not selcting the correct HDMI input. If you have already checked this then you could bave a very very rare Marantz AVR problem; call Marantz TECH SUPPORT.
