Marantz SR-7010 or Yamaha RX-A860?

My Pioneer died so I am looking to replace. The two I keep leaning towards Marantz SR-7010 and Yamaha RX-A860. Thoughts?

What makes you prefer these two? That might help sway you one way or the other. Personally I would prefer Audyssey.

What do you mean by sound? It's their different processing that would be the most significant difference in sound. Features and connectivity are the primary differences among avrs (and maybe reliability, where the Yamaha brand may have an advantage).

If I told you that Marantz sounds like trumpets from the heavens and Yamaha the grinding of a garbage truck would you consider that a valid reason to choose one over the other? Subjective opinions on sound quality are.....subjective. Many "sound quality" preferences are just that....only preferences.

I generally prefer Audyssey so would probably go with the Marantz. Another thought, if you don't need 7 channels or loads of features, check out Anthem's line of AVRs.

Between the two, definitely the SR-7010 that has superior specs. The SR-7010 should be compared to something like a RX-A3050 or A3060.

I would take Marantz (or Denon if better prices) for sure.
