Marantz sr-7002 as a pre/pro?

I currently have a Marantz sr-7002 in my ht rig. I have a spare Bryston 4b and Hafler dh200 that I could use to power my ht speakers. Would I be better off getting another pre/pro rather than using my sr-7002? Should I even bother using sepatate amps? My speakers are Energy rc-70s for fronts, rc-30s for rears, rc-lcr for the centre.

Anyone have an opinion?

If you're not getting the SPL levels you want from the 7002 alone I don't see any reason not to off load some of the work to an external amp. I know my RC70's are a little power hungry on my AVR so I plan on getting an external amp.

I can get pretty good volume on the RC-70s since I'm using them with an SVS sub. I was wondering if it's worth swapping in my Halfler, bryston, or both. I found the sound quality improved when I went from my Onkyo 705 to the sr7002.

What are you using the drive the RC-70s? I only have about 30 hours on my RC-70s so far.

Right now I'm using a Yamaha 5750 and unfortunately it doesn't have pre-outs so I have to upgrade my receiver before getting an external amp. It drives the RC70's pretty good, both sound quality and volume wise, but I would like a little more ummph.

Since you already have the Bryston hanging around why not try it out? It will definitely drive those speakers well but only you can tell if the sound quality is to your liking.
