I am having problems with my Marantz SR7300 A/V receiver. It runs for about 5 hours and then shuts itself off. When I turn it back on, it runs for about an hour and shuts off. Sometimes, when I touch the tuning knob, it will shut off. Any ideas? I tried the reset twice but with no results.

The Marantz speaker connections are close together which can cause wires from the ground terminal to touch the hot terminal thereby triggering the protection shut-off. This is one possible cause. If you have bannana clips give them a shot and see if it helps. Otherwise try disconnecting the inputs one at a time to try to identify which unit is triggering the shut-off. If the Marantz still shuts down with out any units connected you will have isolated the problem to the receiver and will need repairs. Good luck.

Thanks Mudshark

I tried your advice, disconnected all speakers and components and it shut off anyway. I contacted the store that I purchased it from in 2003 and they said I would have to send it to an authorized dealer in Conn., there are none in Maine. Thanks again!
