Marantz receiver, Audyssey auto setup triggers sporadically

I reset my Marantz receiver, ran audyssey setup. Post that I have been facing a strange issue, Audyssey auto setup triggers sporadically even after Audyssey has been run post reset.
In the middle of using the receiver, audyssey setup auto kicks in. Similar to when audyssey kicks in when audyssey mike is plugged in and it detects and triggers the auto setup.

This is what i have attempted so far.
  • Reset the microprocessor multiple times.
  • Ran audyssey setup after that.
  • Switched off and on the receiver. Disconnected completely from power source for a min, and then reconnected.
  • It might work fine post reset or have issues immediately.
  • Either way after multiple attempts it goes away and then triggers soon.
How do i fix this? It is really annoying. More importantly i hope my receiver is good! :(

After the reset did you check to see if firmware upgrade was needed?

Have you tried doing a back-up, post Audyssey set-up? And then reloading it when it acts up and lock-up the memory function?

Keep in mind I'm assuming that Marantz has the same features as my Yamaha AVR's.

Completed the firmware upgrade, took about 40 mins. I did not update airplay.
Worked fine for a while. Now the issue has come up again.

Wondering if a reset will help now.

I did that before firmware upgrade. Persistent bugger this one.

Set a lock on settings, preventing from being modified?

Seems to me you have tried you best. Time to contact Marantz.

Please keep us posted of what they found/fixed, to benefit others who may experience similar problem.

Was thinking I'll try,
1. Insert an open circuit plug to audyssey port, check if it triggers auto setup. If yes, it might have a loose circuit at the port.
2. Do a reset, lock settings immediately after.
3. A back-up - restore, post Audyssey set-up.

If not, should I write to them? Create thread in Marantz forums?

Good idea, but be sure to do all those things before warranty expires.

#1 worked seems to have worked as a solution itself. I was attempting to use it as a troubleshooting step. It was being triggered with it, so i lightly inserted a toothpick couple of times and attempted to trigger with it. After 2-3 triggers, it stopped. Removed it, and left the port unused since. I have not faced this issue after this, about 2 days. I am suspecting the issue is that audyssey port.

That should be an easy fix then, but It may be better to let Marantz know so they will fix it properly without you opening it up and void the warranty. If you haven't have it for long, try talk them to send you a replacement to avoid loss of use. The reason is, the issue was there from day one right? You just didn't know enough to send it back within the return window.

Warranty is long gone. It is more than 5 years old. This is an issue i just faced. Not one that existed from day one.
This should be a simple fix if the port is the issue. I know someone who will fix this for me, if required. I want to reduce their burden by troubleshooting myself first.

Thanks for all the help.
