Hi all,

Can someone please explain the Front L and R wiring in the Marantz receiver diagram below, why do they draw the wires connected to each other? If I'm connecting an external amp shouldn't I be using two separate RCA cables?

Yes, you should be using two separate cables. I just figure that the schematic shows the wires as if they were connected together but they only put them together as most RCA cables are sold as pairs. On the market nowadays, you cannot find a monophonic RCA cable, but you can find a single Video cable with RCA male plugs which you could use as a mono audio cable.
I trust that this answers your query.
Cheers!

Thanks Verdinut just wanted to confirm it wasn't something else I'm unaware of and blow my new amp.

The schematic has a very poor and confusing way of displaying it. They could have simply layed it out like the Center channel cable with another cable stuck together side by side like how we purchase them. I also mentioned it to Marantz but haven't heard back.

I think they're just using the graphic to shorten distance between connectors so to speak, does look kinda dumb, agreed.....no point in the little u connectors....

They do it like that to help keep the diagram uncluttered, and because they know everyone knows that left/right stereo cables come in pairs. Well, almost everyone... :)
