Marantz PM-6004 short in supply?

I need some advice here.

I went out and ordered one of these through a place around here. It's been four weeks since the order, and they just informed me stock won't be in for another 3 months.

They offered the floor model as something I could use until they get the stock in.

Take my money and run? Or should I just wait it out? I want the PM-6004, since I'm pairing it with my Kef Q-300 speakers, but... not sure what to do. It seems so odd that a product is taking 3 months to get in (really 4 months since I ordered it 4 weeks ago). One whole third of a year...

Anyone have any insight? Am I being given any sort of a run-around? It seems nice that they're offering the floor model, and that will tide me over just fine... but pre-paying for a product and waiting one third of a year feels strange to me. I am curious if anyone has insider information about this; they mentioned Marantz amplifiers are in unusually high demand everywhere and as a result that's why it will take such a long time.

I live in Canada btw.

I did the same thing when I ordered my 8300. It had been released, but they were not available yet, so they lent me a floor model to use in the meantime. No complaints. If the 6004 is what you want, I'd take their offer and wait.

What it likely means is components are in short supply to build them compared to the demand.

Even AC4L doesn't have any refurbs on that one right now.
