Marantz DV8300 analogue out

Hi All

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, but here goes. I've got a Marantz DV8300 universal player that is connected to a Yamaha RX-Z1. For some reason, the SACD and DVD-A output now has a muted volume. These signals are output through the analogue cables on the Marantz. I think the issue is with the Marantz and not the Yamaha because the analogue signals from the other components connected to the Yamaha are fine (eg minidisc and cd-r). It is only the analogue signal that comes through the six channel and the dvd/cd inputs that are muted (these are both connected from the Marantz).

I've checked all the cabling and the set-up and can't find anything obviously amiss.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Most receivers don't apply bass managment to the analog inputs so you have to use the player's setup menu for that. Have you set the speaker sizes, distance, and channel levels in the Marantz player?

Thanks for the quick reply.

All the speakers etc have been set up correctly in the set-up on the player. It's got me scratching my head, that's for sure - I'm hoping there's something that I've overlooked as it was working fine last week. I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong internally with the player. I've even re-set the player back to factory condition and have re-entered all the settings. This weekend I'm going to try connecting the dv8300 to one of the other inputs on the Yammie and see what happens. I imagine that will at least confirm once and for all which side the problem is on.

Cheers
