Does Marantz have a setting that enables more center channel output to be directed towards the front towers??

Setup button / Audio / Surround Parameter / Center Spread On

This depends on your model. I think gene said the newer D&M AVRs don't have the center spread option.

Believe they had to backpedal on that due many complaints, IIRC they addressed via firmware updates...

I don’t see that, even after checking for firmware.

maybe I’m using it errr wanting it for the wrong reason. Looking to make my towers get more of the action especially since they are bigger drivers and three way design. Does LFE+L/F mode only work for sub base frequencies? Not turning this into a flame war on would a should a could a lol. I know Yamaha ‘s higher end models boost dialogue and blend to the L/R output etc etc.

Anyway really appreciate your feedback... I’m here to learn

Flame war?? What? Lol

Far as I know most folks use center spread for listening to music in 5.1 surround so the soundstage doesn't collapse. For movies and shows I would think center spread would mess things up with your dialogue no longer being anchored to the center like it was intended. Another thing, I think center spread is only available with Dolby 5.1. Pretty sure the option isn't there for any of my other modes.

If you want your main speakers to handle the center channel duties why not just run phantom mode and do away with the center..?

How bout' a good ol' thumb war?;) I thought center spread was omitted from 14 and 15 models and then put in via firmware update. His 7013 should have it and it is designed for two channel content when played in surround mode. Not sure how Denon/Marantz handle the feature when trying to apply it to Dolby 5.1 or atmos tracks. If you want "more of the action" from the fronts, maybe check your crossover setting for the fronts to see where you have it set.

LFE + Main mode is a double bass mode of sorts for lower bass, it duplicates it in the sub as well as plays it to the L/R speakers set to large (up to the set crossover). Not my preference, I use LFE mode with a fairly high crossover even tho my mains are relatively capable, I have more capable subs. Just being a large 3 way doesn't mean a lot...
