the seller is "always at market" and the disclaimer states sold as is no warranty at the bottom of the page. IS this a Marantz authorized auction? hmmmmm

I would assume they are just getting rid of old stock, though I do not believe they carry Marantz.

that does sound a little fishy. here is a cut from the listing. Maybe it still has the warranty card from Marantz. Dont think it will still be valid though. If someone is interested...do your homework! On the flip side, at $287 (what its at right now) you cant go wrong!!?

don't remember if it was here or another forum, but recently, ubid auctioned the 8400 also. Someone checked with Marantz to find out that ubid is a clearing house/liquidation/whatever for them, and was indeed authorized by marantz at least this particular auction was, and the mfg. warranty was good. however, some of these were purchased and then showed up later on ebay, which was not factory authorized and so the mfg warranty was void, per marantz. now, that doesn't bother some people, they buy the product and never have a minute's problem with it. I prefer to get a "big ticket" item with a factory warranty honored by authorized sellers. Not saying this isn't authorized, but buyer beware and consumer educate thyself before plunging in.

there are some on ebay both denon 3805 and marantz 8400. seems like they are cleaning house for the new models good prices.

Actually, I've already been outbid. But I will keep my eyes on it. Don't really need another receiver. But for a good price I can't turn it down for a backup.

Well thats it for me. My final bid was 482.99 But just got outbid with an hour 21 left. I'll have to keep searching for another highend piece for a backup....
