I have been searching for about three weeks and have been quoted on the following speakers sets: Set#1 klipsch RB25 front, RC25 centre, RB15 or RS25 rear and RW12 sub. Set #2 Energy C-3 front, C-C-1 centre, Totem Tac 6.5 rear and Energy EXL5-10.3 sub. Set #3 Tannoy F2 front, FC centre, F1 rear and Velodyne DLS400R sub. All are within $600 for the set from lowest to highest ($1,675 - $2,420) and will be driven by the Yamaha RXL1500 receiver. I am looking for something that is strictly for home theatre with minimal music. If anyone has input please as I am new to the game.

Have you listened to any of the speakers in question? Your own ears should make the decision.

This is perfect for HT and priced right. I doubt you will hear much difference if you are using it for 95% home theater, although the Acoustech sub is pretty wicked (designed by Dr. Hsu). You may need to pick up an extra rear or surrounds if you are running 6.1/7.1, but you'll still be way under budget.

listen

I found that the stores didn't have the ones I wanted hooked up. I listened to a lesser version of the klipsch. They had the Tannoy's hooked up and sounded ok but not in an enclosed theatre room. I didn't get to listen to the energy's. From what I was told the klipsch seemed to be the easiest to drive. Taken the least work by the reciever to drive (if I understood correctly)

Hi all
Might want to check out this thread at the Klipsch forum for more info
There have been several accusations made about the review of the Acoustech speakers don’t know if they are true so don’t shoot the messenger ;) I install both Klipsch and BIC I like them both @ perspective price points I dont care much for the Acoustech line
