I found this offer from my dealer: a Wharfedale Evo 10 mains: I already have this for my mains. but I'm lacking a good center and I was thinking if I use one of the mains that I found at my dealer as my center:

Is this a good idea?

Quick I need answers :D

if it fits, it's a good idea :D
it's actually a good goal to have all three front speakers to be exactly the same.

+3 I would definitely go with that for the center. At one point I was considering using a pair of those as my center on their side but ended up happy for now with the 9.CM.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN DAMN

I didnt get. Somebody had already come for it. I'm so pissed that I didnt check the site earlier.

I was already making plans for it. Now the night is ruined and I'm going to suffer sleepless night.

I'm not suprised that its gone. Its a nice beautiful speaker with good sound.

The price was also good.

DAMN! :mad::mad:

The same speaker as your mains would be a great addition for your system, your intentions are to use it standing vertically like your mains right...?

What a bummer, keep looking though.

You could look for an opus center (nearly the same tweeter).

Actually I was thinking of putting it on the side. I was going to build an stand for it. Is there anything wrong with putting it on its side? I think adk highlander was thinking of doing something similar.

You were thinking of using both of them as center? I thought that was "audioholically" frowned upon. :)

i have actually tested the 9.CM and the EVO1 center. The EVO1 center sounded better. But guess what? The pair that I running to buy was cheaper than the EVO1 center.

TSTO has Evo10's for $380/pair, which seems like a good deal:
Evo2-10's

A lot of high end systems use the same speaker for the center as well as the mains and I know some preamps allow for dual center channels but I have not heard the difference (positive or negative) this makes.
