Which is a better value?

I am purchasing speakers for my PC. I'm improving the quality of my peripherals for the first time! Would appreciate advice. Both speakers are new.

I have no experience on the Edifier. But, I have had the smaller CR3 in my garage for the last couple of years and those are pretty decent speakers for the price. Also, it is nice that they come with iso-pads in the box.

Welcome to the forum!

I've had the Mackies for about a month now, and I'm pleased with them.
As Slip said, the isolation pads are a nice bonus.

Another question: I've been doing more research and I keep finding "better" speakers (bookshelf) for marginally higher prices. These will be used as PC speakers primarily, the room is average room. Mostly music (different genres) and YouTube. Can someone suggest what specs would be optimal?

For example, are the Edifiers S1000 or R2000DB too much for an average room for someone who isn't an audiophile ? Appreciate it.

At $99/pr I do like the Edifier R1280T for background music but not for critical listing. I'm a bit less impressed by the boomy sound of the R1750. If you shop carefully you should be able to pick up JBL's LSR305 powered studio monitors for $99ea - less than the R2000DB. The LSR305s each have their own amp and volume control so you'll have to control the volume with your computer's volume control. Or if you have the space you could spend a bit more ($150ea for huge) LSR308 8" studio monitors.
