Just tossing this out there for some feedback. If you could choose between the two which one would you go with? Pros & cons between the two & their musicality performance. I'm sure either one could drive any speakers out there.

I dont think i really need to say which amp i'd choose between the Mac & Bryston:D

On a serious note ,as you said both amps are beasts & built to last forever so your choices would have to be based on personal preferences like resale, looks ect.

The MC402's resale value has gone up steadily since its release & should continue to climb for a few more years,The Bryston's resale value is good too but it has not gained any real value.

As for looks i believe that at the price point manufacturers charge for high end gear the equipment should look like more than a black box with no style, any 4k amp should scream class.

I have to ask...

You already have a Van Alstine OmegaStar 440EX amp, which is one of the best amps made regardless of price. Why would you even consider something else? Unlike Macintosh or Bryston, AVA amps may have little or no name recognition, but if I had to buy a new large high-powered amp today, Van Alstine would be the one.

For those who may be curious, amps designed by Frank Van Alstine http://www.avahifi.com/ are among the very best.
