I'm looking for opinions on the MK K5's and K7's. I'm close to buying these with the MK K10 Sub for our HT and music listening. If anyone has these or has had experiance with them I'd like to hear your ideas. So far all I've been able to compare them to are the Def Tech Cinema Series and the Boston Acoustic Micro Series at the new Magnolia store near us.

Thanks

There's very few people who knows about M&K. On this website, they don't even talk about it. But, I am a big fan of this brand. I have two systems, one is using the S-85's and my main system is using the pro series speakers of M&K. I don't have experience with the K series but I think it is comparable to the S-85's which sounded really good for that size speakers. In general M&K makes excellent products and the target consumer are studios. That's why most of their products are studio monitors that gives you a flat responds.
These speakers sounded good with Yamaha and Denon.
Tell me what you think of the k series.

I'm a strong believer in the M&K brand. In my main listening/theater room, I have a S150s in the front and LCR-75s in the rear with a Denon 3805. Downstairs we have the S150 inwalls in the front and S85 inwalls in the rear, which are also fantastic.

I haven't had much experiance with the K series, but I can assure you M&K makes a fantastic product and I think you will be very pleased with your purchase!

The K10 sub is a cool little 8" sub. They sound fantastic. You can upgrade it later by getting the K11, which has the driver reversed. So you have a "push-pull room."

M & K speakers

I have M&K S150 main speakers, four SS150 surrounds, and an MX350 subwoofer. I use two of the SS150 as tripole side speakers and two as rear speakers with the direct-radiating component decreased. Their build quality and sound reproduction are outstanding. M&K just seems not to advertise much for the home market and most of the mags(rags) consequently do not give them much play. They have a small residential market share and do not turn up in forums much. Professionals, however, know them well, and they are the primary speakers in many sound studios. I cannot speak for the models you are interested in. I can only speak for my own satisfaction and the quality of the product the company makes.

It's good to know there are M&K fans here on this website. I've been a member for a year now and I don't hear much about M&K. I have almost the same setup like ebough but on the pro side. Here's my setup on my main system:
L-C-R: M&K MPS-2510P
Surround: M&K MPS-1525
Rear: M&K MPS-1510
Subwoofer: (2) M&K MPS-5310
I agree with ebough that M&K doesn't target the consumer side of the business but they are big with the pros.

Man you guys are lucky...I could only afford the 750 system. But I agree on their quality and sound reproduction. There are times the sound reproduction is too good, but that is a good thing.
