I’m gonna buy a Denon AVC-A1SE (AVR-4802 in the US) from a friend. He has had it for about three years and never had a problem with it ever. I got it here at home and hooked everything up to it and started playing around with it, it’s cool and sounds great.
I got all the digital line-ins working, DVD, XBOX, CD and all that stuff. Now to the problem, I can’t get any good audio on any of the analog line-in to work properly. I have a VCR and a Record Player. I do get audio but it’s very low, no matter what input I select it still playes the same thing. I switch to Phono, there’s still VCR playing and still very low. I switch to CD and still VCR playing and very low… but if I go to a digital input things are great. I thought something was wrong with the sources so I took my PC and hooked it up to it, but same thing. No matter what I plug in to it I get the same problem. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? I don’t think that there is anything wrong with it, my guess is that it’s a setting somewhere.
I have tried the Microprocessor re-init but that does nothing, is there a "secret restore to factory defaults” I could try?
Talked to a guy on the phone today and his guess that it had something to do with multizone/recording settings. I've gone trough all the settings I can find and set everything according to the user manual suggestions, still same problem.
