Welcome to Audioholics

And Congratulations on your purchase.

But if your Marantz has a "sound". You need to return it because it's defective. Receivers are meant to process a signal, the amplify it. They are not suppose to add to, or color the signal.

Do we have to nit pick every post? We can answer this without the BS, don't you think? I mean, what do you know about sound anyway?:D;)

Marantz has that warm and fuzzy sound, so speakers with fuzzy grills are needed.

Speaker should be chosen first, since speakers have the biggest impact on sound quality.

But since you have the receiver first we will work with that.

What are your expectations, and what budget are you working with? Any restrictions on speaker size? Have you auditioned any speakers yourself.

Post # 3. We need your location so we can recommend speakers that are available to you.

Not so we can take a ship across the ocean, and cut you up into little pieces.

Based on music taste, and location. I recommend looking into the Bowers Wilkins 600 series for your budget.

Since he lives in EU those speakers will actually be around half the price compared to the US. With his budget he can jump to the CM series.

OP also check out the following two brands: System Audio and Dali. They are both Danish speakers and have a dealer network in your country. IMO you will get more bang for the buck with either of those two brands than B&W.

HI,
my location is Luxembourg.
You are about three hours from Obrigheim. This is where MB Quart is manufatcured. You shouldn't have a problem finding them.

You are also about three hours from Rosengarten. This is where Dynaudio is manufactured. You also shouldn't have a problem finding them.

IMO, you are where the best speakers in the world are made. I am shure there are more brands I don't even know about that are available to you. Lucky, Lucky, Lucky.

Never heard of Acoustic Energy, and I forgot about Canton being a native speaker.

I place my bet on Dynaudio. Please come back to this thread and let us know how it goes. I am exited for you, as you have a very good audition selection.
