Lou of Lonesaquaro (Lou's Speaker Site) passed away today after battling cancer. He joins his wife Bev.

His was one of the first sites I bookmarked on my journey of all things DIY.

He was a mentor to many and a friend to all. You'll be missed.

RIP Lou,

Mark

He was my friend, and I spent many hours talking to him - and rarely about audio. At a time in my life when I was at my darkest, he gave me perspective. He will be missed, and his influence on propelling people to consider the DIY side of things can never be over-estimated. Rest in peace, my friend.

I'm sad to hear about Lou's passing.

I didn't know him personally, but like so many others have said, his web site strongly influenced me as I started to learn DIY speaker building. His writing, diagrams, and photos made everything seem doable. His common sense approach made a complex process seem simple. And that I think is always the product of a person who has a bright mind and can think and express himself clearly.

And his finished speaker cabinets were always gems :).

That seems to be a strong theme with Lou. You weren't the only one where audio was a mere by-note in the relationships he cultivated with fellow enthusiasts.
