I have an Onkyo TX-NR 609 receiver and am looking to add speakers but have been overwhelmed with all of the options and contradicting reviews. My thoughts are to start out with a pair of floorstanding front speakers with a center channel and a subwoofer (good idea/bad idea?) I will be using it for watching tv and movies but also for listening to a good bit of music (all kinds). If I can figure it out, I am also hoping to hook up a record player to the system but will cross that bridge when I get there.
I was looking at the Polk Audio CS10 as a center channel speaker but am having trouble figuring out what floorstanding speakers I should get to go with it or if it is a good speaker itself (my budget is max $400 for a pair of tower speakers and no more than $150 for a center channel). I already have a Yamaha YST-SW216BL subwoofer. Any and all info provided will be extremely helpful and much appreciated. Thanks!

Well you have a $450 budget - so, I for sure would not look at the Polk Monitor speakers.
One option and they are nice for the price - and more musical than the Polk speakers.

On sale this week - the Sony Core speakers
Towers - sold each

Center channel

That will put you around $421 - I would save to upgrade that sub in the future.
