Lost picture during bright flash in movie

I just showed a movie with my new component cable hookup (75ft.) and the screen goes to the blank (bright blue, no signal screen) mode momentarily and loses the screen format (goes to full from 16.9) every time there is a bright flash in the movie. I never noticed this with the s-video connection I used before. All hardware is the same; only the cables type is different. What could be wrong? Can this be corrected?
I'm using an In Focus LCD projector and Panasonic HT900 system.

I had a similar problem a while back, when I was running component cables into a receiver then to the tv. I reconnected the dvd directly to the tv and the problem was eliminated. I attributed the problem to a loss of bandwidth (within the reciever). Try connecting the dvd player directly to your projector or try using much shorter cables temporarily and see if the problem still presents itself. If not then consider the alternatives of lower loss cables or somehow using a shorter run.

Is this a case of the SP4805 losing sync problem that InFocus is well aware of?

Is there a firmware upgrade on Infocus site for the projector? If it is the 4805 you should be at version 1.13. I recently performed this upgrade on my 4805 and it provided some nice benefits. I especially like how you continue to see the entire picture now while adjusting the keystone instead of a horizontal line across the screen.
