Looking to upgrade my system

I am trying to find a system that will push my 500W Cerwin Vega XLS dual 215.
Of course I am on a budget and trying to find a home system that consist of a receiver and amp combination. I have the Vegas and a 5 speaker surround sound buy want a 7.1 so I can use the front High speakers to hook up the Vegas per Bi-amp connection. I want a receiver that has an adjustable EQ. Not a lousy Treble, Bass that dials to +10. I want to be able to adjust all bans/levels.

First passive biamping is a waste time, just get a powerful enough avr to suit your listening habits. Trying to find a unit with with full PEQ on the cheap is tough. What is your budget?

I like the avr EverettT suggested but I'd go cheaper on the amp, especially not a 3ch amp as you only have the two large speakers (and are relatively sensitive and the avr alone would do well, but if you have big room/want to get real loud, then an external amp is better); altho if you add a better center down the line 3ch amp might be nice. The Crown XLS1502 would be my choice (I have several 1500s), and if you did later want to add a center with big power you could get another 1502 and still be ahead of the Monolith. The amp aesthetics aren't for everyone, either. :)

Ok I went with the Denon AVR-4400H Receiver and the Crown XLS-2502 Amp to go along with my Cerwin Vega XLS-215. the problem im having is im not getting any where close to having the bass that I should be getting (my fillings should be falling out). And the Crown is humming like no other. Any help would be appreciated.

1) Humming - probably ground loop hum noise. That's probably the #1 problem with using external amps. A lot of people tend to experience ground loop hum. Try using the speakers with just the Denon X4400 without the Crown Amp.

Your Cerwin Vega XLS dual 215 speakers have a sensitivity of 95dB/w/m, which means you most likely don't need any external amps.

We have loud karaoke parties in my 23'L x 22'W x 13'H very open family room. :D I've used just a Denon X3100 AVR with my 93dB/w/m 4-ohm speakers. Absolutely no issues for 8 hours. With dual 120mm fans atop the Denon, it stays extremely cool and rocks the house. :D

And your speakers are even more sensitive than mine!

2) Bass - this has everything to do with the speakers. The specs say the bass is 36Hz @ -10dB. This could mean 60Hz @ -3dB. :D Using 2,000W amps won't improve the bass of your speakers. You will need to use Subwoofers with these speakers.

You could try a cheater plug to lift the ground on the Crown amp. Agree with ADTG...
