At 2 k, I think you can do even better than the ULS or the PB13. At their price point they are fantastic subs, but for a few hundred more, you can top those.
For a single sub solution, I would go with a
Seaton Submersive, although it is somewhat more expensive than a PB13, at $1995, however many comparisons have been made it it is reputed to be a substantially better sub by people who have owned both. This thing is a monster, you should do so reading about it.
For a more even sound field, you should go dual subs, I think this is a better idea for a dedicated home theater room, depending on how spread out the seating is. For that I would consider two
Elemental Designs A7S-450s. If you buy two, they are only $800 a piece instead of $850. If you stretch your budget by just a little bit, something else you should consider is the
P7-650, at $2100, also by ED.
Epik also makes fantastic subs, and two
Dragons ($999 each) would dominate you, and probably give you greater performance than the ULS or SVS subs. That system would rock you so hard. If I had 2 k to outfit a home theater with subs, just thinking about double dragons would put a grin on my face.
