Looking for Upscaling DVD player with VGA out

Hi,

I am researching getting a low cost front projector for the Scout Group I help run and the best I have found for under £300 so far is the Benq Mp612c Dlp projector which is £241.58 inc VAT. I then thought it would be a nice idea if the DVD player we got for it (should we get it) could do upscaling as the projector can do 720 hd and they are not much more expensive than non upscaling players. But the problem is that this projector only has composite, S-Video and VGA. To my knowledge the only one of those with the neccessary bandwidth for upscaling is the VGA input, but searching for a suitable upscaling player with VGA out has so far proved unsuccessful as the only ones that I have found are not being produced anymore.
Does anyone know of a suitable player? We are in the UK and would prefer not to have to inport one either.

I don't think you're gonna find it.

IIRC, all upscaling/upconverting DVD players must output via HDMI by design. It's not a technical requirement but it's some kind of mandate created by the media people.

I have not seen a consumer piece available that outputs over VGA.

All upscaling must take place over HDMI as per those in the media industry.

A component to VGA adapto could potentially be an option assuming the input device is designed to accept a non RGB signal over VGA.

It is designed to accept an RGB signal over the VGA, I did see one Yamaha upscaling DVD player that could upscale over VGA but I can't remember what it was now as I found it was impossible to find.

Do you not mean HDMI when you said a component to vga adaptor, ie a hdmi to vga adaptor.
