Looking for sound bar and sub

I am looking at adding either the YAS70 Yamaha Sound Bar with sub or the YAS90 and the YST-FSW150BL Sub.
Can anyone tell me which will give a better sound? We have a Mitz. LT52144 - 52" LCD and would like to add a sound bar or suround system, it appears to be a non complex sound option that offers quite nice sound for the for the money to be used with the TV only.

The only Yamaha soundbar review I have seen is the Audioholics review of the YSP-4000 at $1799 which is said to be the top-of-the-line in Yamaha's soundbars.

This is a pretty recent review (2/3/08). You can read it closely and it will give you an idea of what to expect from your soundbars. If I am not mistaken, I think it bounces the rear channel beams off of the sidewalls and it likes a relatively narrow distance between the sidewalls. (Maybe 12 feet versus 20 feet.)

I think the soundbars come in different lengths so they can visually match flat pannel TV widths where they hand underneath and the smaller ones are cheaper using fewer small sperkers.

My recommendation is that if you have the right kind of room layour and want to get one, you should probably try to match the flat panel TV width to look best.

I have the YSP-4000 which works great in my room. It has a mode (called My Surround) which is, as I understand it, more or less identical to the Surround in the YAS70. I can tell you that that mode is highly inferior to the 5-beam mode of the YSP-4000, but of course the YSP is a lot more expensive, although the price Exit cites above is considerably cheaper at the Audioholics store (where I bought mine) and even somewhat cheaper elsewhere on the net. The other soundbar I seriously considered was the new Slimstage from soundmatters.com. Given that you have a 52" set, it seems to me that their 50" bar is more what you'd you'd want for esthetic reasons if nothing welse.

Surround sound

Depending on your budget, you might consider on-wall or inwall speakers to maximize asthetics and provide a real surround sound experience. 3 of the EMP on-walls for the fronts and a couple of the satelites for the surround channels would make a good setup. The on-wall speaker come in different lengths to "match" the display. Inwall speakers have grills flush with the wall and can be painted to match the wall color.
