Looking for Sonos advice

Hi,

I'm installing a home theater and multi-room audio system and need some advice. I have 4 rooms: the main room with a TV and 5.1 set up and then my kitchen, dining room and outside deck.

I'm thinking of getting an Integra 2 zone receiver and then using 4 Sonos Connect's with a separate amp to power music for each of the 4 zones.

I'm going the DIY route and having my electrician run the speaker wire. I will not be using Sonos speakers but plan to get B&W or Paradigm for the speakers.

Does the setup of: 2 zone reciver, 4 (or 3?) Sonos Connectors & 1 amp make sense?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!
Bubba

You can get a sonos "wifi receiver" or a sonos "wifi receiver and amp". You need one sonos 'sending unit' which basically acts the same as a wireless router, but only talks to the sonos receiving units. The receiving unit without an amp obviously needs an amp and speakers. The other option is using a receiving unit with an integrated amp, that will also require speakers; and I do believe there is an all-in-one receiver/amp/speaker module. Check out the sonos website for exact terminology. The "controller" or remote for the system is about $400. I would get an iPod touch (I think) and use the sonos app..I think that would be cheaper...this system is a LOT of money. Key features are synchronized music listening in multiroom setups (or a combination of synch'd and separate selections)
