Hi, I am new to this forum and would greatly appreciate any help you all can give me. Presently used my system for 95% music and 5% home theater. Slim server is used 90% of the time.

I have the following system set;
Pioneer Elite VSX-72 TXV
Pioneer DV-47A
Monster Power HTS-5100 Power Center
Sony SCD C 2000ES ASCD player
Slim Server
With the following speakers,
Von Schweikert VR-4 JR (Front)
(Back-Von Schweikert VR1)
B&W CDM1 (being used for center)

My room dimensions are 27' X 21", hardwood floors, tongue & groved aspen walls.

I plan on upgrading from the receiver to an amp/preamp I have a budget of aprox. $6,000, any suggestions on getting the biggest bang for my buck?

I am not adverse to getting used components.
Thank you for your help.
Darrell

That is a huge room with all solid surfaces. Must be line an echo chamber?
Have you considered acoustic treatments first?

Thanks for your suggestion really not too much of a problem in that respect have large overstuffed furniture which dampens any echo effect, the von schweikert vr4 have an additional 60lbs apiece of lead shot put in them the vr1 are on stands so I'm getting very little vibration transfer through the floor plus my walls are covered with african masks and other assorted items so I'm pretty limted in that respect of adding anything to the walls. Thanks Darrell
