Hello everyone.. Im just curious about my setup, and if its taking too much power.. I have my lcd tv plugged into the wall unit and a everyday power bar plugged underneath the tv.. Then, i have, my computer, internet adapter, router, xbox-360, Harman Kardon AVR 1600.. Now whats usually on.. Computer, LCD, and Harman Kardon receiver but all those sources take up alot of juice.. No power outtages or shorts have happened before.. Im just wondering if I should go with a stronger power bar? If so, whats a good power bar?.. Thanks in advance..

A better surge suppressor won't make any difference with respect to the amout of power you are drawing from a given circuit. It does not "add" power to the circuit, so if you overload it, the circuit or the suppressor will still intervene to protect your gear.

Your power bar will do nothing to help if the circuit the equipment is using is too small. If you're using tehse power bars for major surges, you'd be better off using a whole-house protector, located at the breaker panel.

You'll have to total up all the power requirements of all that equipment. Check if that total is beyond the capabilities of that power strip.

While you're doing that, find out what else is on that circuit and add that to your first total and see how close it is the circuit's max 1,800-Watts for a 15 amp breaker.
