What brands are good? Should I look at RBH or axiom? They get a lot of press...well at least here.

M markw Audioholic Overlord Mar 3, 2008 #3 What have you listened to that you like so far? What have you heard that you don't like? Seriously, you can't expect other people to be able to tell what you like and don't like. Everyone has different tastes. Just because some like speaker A, others may hate it and prefer speaker B, which others hate that and prefer speaker C and on and on ad infinitim... You've got to do a bit of listening on your own.

Click to expand... what kind of sound are you looking for? Whats your budget? WHat do you plan on driving them with. We need details. As mentioned previously, one person myalike brand x where another person hates brand x. Speakers are so subjective.

E Exit Audioholic Chief Mar 3, 2008 #6 As a minimum system I would look at SVS 01 5.1 system with the PB10 subwoofer for $1000. If you have a large room you could move up in subwoofer models to match your room. You can get specific advice from SVS on subwoofer recommendations to fit your room size. You will need to know the cubic feet in your listening area including any rooms that are open to your A/V room. If you want to move upscale more than this you should state your budget and you will get more specific advice on higher end speakers and subwoofers.
