I was given a Pioneer SX-650 and I can't find much information about it. I could buy an owner's manual, but I'm cheap/broke. Is it worth anything, is it a good unit? It works fine and sounds good to me.

This is my first post; I hope I'm doing it right.

It is a solidly constructed unit made in the 1970's. You can read a bit about it at:

I think you can download an owner's manual at:

Pioneer SX-650 | Owners Manual, Service Manual, Schematics, Free Download | HiFi Engine

Though you have to register to do so.

You might also be able to download one from AudioKarma.org Home Audio Stereo Discussion Forums though, again, you would have to register to do so, and I am not absolutely certain that they have it.

The receiver you have is not particularly valuable, but it is a nice unit that, if in good condition, is worth having. I have a Pioneer from that era that I use frequently, and I like it very much. Enjoy your receiver!

google is your friend... a quick search turned up a PDF version that can be found here. This one is registration free too.

I picked up a SX-650 on Craigslist and enjoyed it for quite some time before selling it to my butcher for about 100 bucks. Now he's had it for quite some time. You may be cheap/broke but at least you got tunes. The 650 is a good little rec'r. Enjoy.
