looking for info on a home theatre set up

ok... I just purchased a Yamaha 6180 receiver, my question is, what is the best way to hook up my Blu-Ray, Plasma, and HD Cable box to it by HDMI???

BTW... I've been told that with HDMI all I needto do is hook up each component to the receiver with the HDMI, is this correct?
(as in one hdmi from the receiver to the cable box, one from the receiver to the Blu-Ray, and one from the receiver to the plasma, so using 3 HDMI cables in total)

Sounds like you have it right from what I know. Hook everything into the receiver with whatever connection you are using. Sounds like hdmi. Then you will have just the one hdmi going from the receiver to the TV. Just make sure that unit you have does audio through hdmi not just video. I'll go look it up now.. brb

In case you don't know - do NOT pay local retail for your HDMI cables - you'll end up paying more for one than you'll pay for all three from monoprice, bluejeans or Amazon.
