Looking for high quality music

Hi! I have recently invested in stereo system and am now looking for some quality music to take full advantage from it. What should I be looking for? Bit rate? Just file size per minute?

As well is 24/48 sound card sufficient? I still can exchange it to 24/96 if theres any sense in it. Dont want to be throwing my money out as well I tried googling it and 24/48 for 3 minute song is like ~50mb for stereo? That sounds huge

PS Can anyone recommend some places where to download high quality music for free?

Legal places to download hi quality for music for free are rare. You're best best if you are on a tight budget is one of the streaming services like Spotify/Mog/Pandora. You can check out 2L the Nordic sound; there are some hi res files you can download from it: 2L - the Nordic Sound

I'm new here so I can't post any links yet but google "Live Music Archive" and you'll find plenty of high quality and streaming and downloads.

and unless you have a premium/pay Spotify or Pandora account you'll be streaming low quality/bitrate.
