Would i have any problem buying online. Really feel uncomfortable of buying online with a reciever. What if something happens to it, etc?? But it seems like they are way cheaper than best buy prices, etc. Are these refurbished recievers that are selling for 300?? I see the retail price is 500. Can you give me your input on this. thanks

If I were buying from BB, I would get the best Yamaha my wallet would allow.

Buying a Yamaha or Denon from the net is scary, but I did it. I wanted a better product than was available from BB.

From my recent research, I am leaning more towards Denon. It has taken 3+ years of reading, and studying manuals to come to this conclusion. I am a very happy Yamaha owner, but Denon has a slight edge in what I now prefer.

I don't spend much time checking-out Pioneer, but I am sure they are just as good. All depends on what you need it to do, and what will be connected.

Pioneer

If you go with the Pioneer VSX-1015TX, just be aware that it is 18.3 inches
deep and you will need to allow at least 2" more for cabling! Only other thing is no HDMI, but that doesn't appear to be perfected yet anyway. The Pioneer seems like an awesome unit for the price! :)

I bought the HTR-5860 online for just over $300. At best buy, the same model is $500. This is why I would recommend buying online from an authorized dealer. If you have a problem with the receiver, you usually have to deal with the manufacturer and not the store.
