Looking for an ED plasma

Hi everyone.

I am buying two plasmas. The first one is the Pioneer 5050 and I don't know about the second one. Can someone suggest a 42" plasma for $2000? I'm also going to need a wall mount with it.

There are a few ED units you might find close to that range, but the mount would be extra. Be aware though that most Plasma's in that price range will be industrial or commercial models and are probably not HDCP compliant. Which means that a DVI cable will only work from a computer and not a video source.
Look for these brands
Champion
Electrograph
LG (MU-42PM11 might come close to the price)
Wall-Mart has some "off brand" stuff below that price.
Gateway had one (don't know if they still do)
Maybe Dell

av-man thanks for the info. I didn't know anything about the HDCP. I kind of thought that I might have to pay a little more. I finally found two plasmas that I like. The Panasonic TH-42PX50U and the Samsung SPR4232. Now I have to make a decision on one. Does anyone one have any inputs on any of these models?

The Panasonic is nice. The Samsung is probably O.K. but I would check the noise output. I've installed a couple in the past that a very loud cooling fan in them. When watching a quiet movie they could be very annoying. If your budget has grown any look at NEC and Hitachi.

HITACHI has a few models for around that price.
LG and NEC also have a few as well as Panasonic and Samsung.
Keep in mind that all these units are EDTV 42" models.

I personally think the TH-42PX50U is the best deal around. I can hardly tell it apart from the HD model even with hidef signals. I watched it for an hour side by side with the aquos 45 lcd and the pansonic hd 42" model and was suprised how well it performed.
you can find it for $2000 froma reputable dealer if you look.

You can also pick-up the PANASONIC TH-42PWD7UY for around $2,000.00.
Another great display for the money.
