Looking for a very cheap subwoofer

Price is everything here. What is the cheapest subwoofer (or maybe brand) you know of. It'll be pairing up with 3 Acoustic Research speakers from the HC4 system (It's a long story where the other 2 speakers and included subwoofer went to). This sub will be used mostly by my mom (no, I'm not a 40 year old living in his parents' basement:D...I'm 16.) on the treadmill and she wants some bass. My mom isn't an audioholic whatsoever so the sub doesn't need to play unbelievalbe lows. Thanks for any recommendations!

You could look used as well on Ebay, Audiogon, or my personal favorite Pawn Shops.

That's why he wants something cheap.

Check craigslist and eBay if you want to go real cheap.

Check out Cicuit City I have two of these and they sound ok. You can pick one up for 80-90 dollers

Sony 8" Subwoofer (SA-WM250)

•8" woofer
•Bass-reflex design
•100-watt RMS amplifier •50Hz-200Hz response
•Line-level inputs
•Speaker-level inputs
I live in Canada and there isn't a Circuit City in my area. Also, I've owned Sony subwoofers before including the SA-WM250 and it's not of my taste. Thanks for the suggestion anyways!:)

You have to take into acount the cost of the other materials need such as wood and glue. After that I may cost just a little over $100. I wonder what a larger version of that would be like.:D It looks good though.

I already got some 3/4 inch MDF, screws and wood glue from previous projects so I figured DIY would save some cash.
