I have a small little entertainment room, aka my room. I have a 5.1 sony receiver, 50 inch plasma tv, 4 sony bookshelf speakers, and at the moment I lack a center channel and subwoofer. The receiver I received as a gift and its a bit old, my sound is good enough for me and by all means it isnt the best, an audiophile may listen to it and puke, but I love it for my own little deal. Just picked up a new job, and getting my paycheck today and wanting to pick up a sub to add to my system, the thing is that the receiver only has a RCA jack for sub output. Looking for up to $250, an everyday sub, I Dont need to crack my walls as I just fixed them. I listen and play movies, rap, rock, techno basically everything. Iv been interested in BIC americas v1220 and f12, they seem to be a good deal for the money but I can't really say as I'v never listened to them. I need something for a 18x18 room thats nice and pretty clean. If it cant make the windows rattle I dont want it. I want to be able to feel the hard earned money haha literally. I can possibly wait for my next paycheck to lift my price to about 400 but im not sure if its really worth it. Any opinions would be great and thanks.

and this might be a stupid question, but I was just wondering if there is any risk that a sub will break the plasma screen as it is glass, and also what is the deal with magnetic shielding. And if you need to know power is not concerned i'm going to run it on a new 15 amp breaker. I just want the raw power that wont make me feel like im in a public restroom but something I can jam to, or watch a good movie. I don't need to be concerned about neighbors I can crank it up all night if I wish, and size is no concern tons of room in my room

You aren't going to rattle windows for $250. I would wait as your choices are much better at around the $400-500 point. Square footprint rooms are also tougher for bass due to cancellation, so placement and proper setup are going to be important, but you will still need a decent sub to get good output in a room like that. Of if you can swing it, the Ultra Sub 10 is on sale right now:

If you are going to have to save to do that, might as well step up to the Ultra 12 :)

You WANT the RCA jack output (line level) for the sub, as this is the simplest connection, so you are all set there.
