Looking for a new TV

Looking to purchase a new tv soon and have a few questions
Will most definitely be going with a Samsung
Most likely 55" but could go bigger
Not interested in plasma
Id like to stay under $3000

Is LED worth the price bump? Or should i stick with LCD?
Do i need 240Hz?

TV will be for Blu Ray and video games.

When you say LED, that's just the backlight...it's still an LCD tv, just not one with a CCFL backlight. I've never used a 240hz display so I can't comment on that.

Anyway, you should probably post a budget and any other features you require so people can give you better recommendations.

I have been looking into some of the samsung TV's. Is going LED worth the price premium? They seem to still be up there in price when comparing. would it be worth going with a lower end led vs just a higher end lcd.

You can have a look at the Samsung UN55C8000, it is a LED tv, around $3000.
This TV looks amazing.

I agree, Samsung's UN55C8000 is the very best in its league and just under $3k. Plus if you buy Samsiung's BDC6900 3D BD player at the same time you get two pairs of 3D glasses and Monsters vs. Aliens 3D all free.
