Looking for a DAC to use with Logitech Duet

I am in search of a DAC to use with a Logitech Duet for my FLAC collection. Price range would be under $500.

I was also looking into possible modifcations for the Duet but there doesnt seem to be any that make a large difference in SQ, at least that is the feedback I have read.

Any ideas or feedback would be much appreciated. I have been using a htpc for about 10 years and it's finally time to move to a dedicated music setup like the Duet.

I'd suggest the ps audio dIII if you are patient. Looks like there is one on audiogon that has a sale pending for $495.

There is a Cambridge DACmagic for sale in the classifieds as well. Yes, it happens to be mine.

I've heard positive things about the Musicstreamer and Musicstreamer + as well, but I don't have any experience with them.

The Duet already has a 24-bit Wolfson DAC. I would find out what the specs on it are.

Potentially there is not going to be a game changing sound but you will need to decide for yourself.

What is your setup like? Source, Amp, Speakers?
