Okay, I've listened to 30 WMA songs on via SD card on my Denon DVD-3800BDCI, and it sounds fantastic.:D

You mean one of those little cards like in my Canon digital camera?! Are these lossless formatts? Two channel? Im interested. Is there a slot in the front to put the card in for viewing pictures and vid clips? Cool.

Yeah, it's one of those little Secure Digital (SD) cards that you use in most digital cameras.

It's WMA (Windows Media Audio), so I don't think it's lossless. For example, Eagles' Hotel California is 6.9MB in size.

Since the new Denon receivers (5308, 4308, etc.) are Vista compatible and have USB ports, I bet they can play those Lossless and Uncompressed Audio Formats.
It's 2Ch like CDs. But I don't think the BD player w/ the SD card can play Lossless formats.

Yes, there is a slot in the Front of the BD player for viewing JPEG pictures. I have not tried any video clips.

I can't tell any difference at all between the WMA music from the SD card compared to high quality 2.0 CDs like Eagles' Hell Freezes Over CD.

I couldn't find it mentioned in the owner's manual - do you know if it will play WMA Lossless files?

Thanks.

I have played 6 million songs through WMP using WAV files going to my AVR so I win!

Okay, I checked both WMA Lossless and WAV files, and neither one worked on the DVD-3800BDCI. So only regular WMA works.

An all analog guy like you would never figure out the 5308.
It will just take me more time.:D

So since the 3808 does not have WiFi, are you hooking the ethernet cable from the 3808 to the PC?

And that's how you are playing the WAV files? Via the PC's WMP?

Or can you just hook a portable Hard Drive (WAV files) via USB?
