lip sync problem with DirectTV

I have read about the lip sync problem with DVD players. I just bought a Sony XBR960, and am having the same problem with the transmission from DirectTV. Anyone else noticed this problem? If so, any suggestions on how to correct it?

Directv will have a one second delay compared to broadcast television.......TIVO units with built in DTV will have about a 2 second delay because of the hard drive recording.May I ask why you want to lip sync?
