Linking multiple Yamaha AVRs via MusicCast?

Has anyone tried playing the same music on two different Yamaha AVRs using MusicCast? I have two systems I’d like to sync and play the same content so I can listen in every room. My main system would cover the livingroom and my wife’s craft room, the second would cover the master bedroom and potentially the third bedroom.

I’ve considered connecting the second system to the main as zone 4 via hdmi, but that would be a pretty long run for hdmi. Not sure how well that would work.

Ideas?

I have done that one. So first you need the musicast app on your phone or tablet. Then you can follow the instructions. However, be aware that when they link up, the lip sync delay will be disabled so they can play together. To re-enable lip sync delay for normal home theater, you have to do that from the app. If you didn’t notice, default Yamaha lip sync delay is 40ms or 42ms (necessary for 4K video to sync with audio).

It was much easier than I expected. I would have tried it earlier but didn’t think my A670 has MusicCast, but it does. Just had to read through the manual to find which button to push to connect the AVRs.

Got it working, just need to iron some things out with Zone 3 on the main system. Need to find the setting to link volume control to the main zone so my wife doesn’t have to swap between the remote app and MusicCast to adjust volume.

Thanks for the help!
