I'm just curious if anyone else here has seen this movie, and if so, what you thought of it.
I saw it about a year and a half ago, but it popped back into my mind today. It has got to be one of the most disturbing and depressing movies that I've seen...primarily because I'm confident that the plot line depects events that really occur. I didn't sleep well for a few nights after watching it. In short, it's about a young Russian girl that gets abandoned by her mom and tricked into white slavery. Every time that I thought that her life couldn't get any worse...it does.
The lead actress (Oksana Akinshina) does a remarkable job, IMO. Hopefully I'll be able to watch her in a not-so-dark-and-depressing story sometime.
