light switch behind screen

This might not be the right forum since it's technically not a screen questions.

Anyways, I am getting ready to move into a home that has a room I am planning to use as a theater. The problem is the light switch is on the wall that I plan on mounting a fixed frame screen. I've just started looking at remote dimmers but I assume the screen material would block the IR signal (RF remote dimmer?).

Any ideas?

Is there no way you could move the switch to any other wall, it's not too difficult to do.

Just an idea.

Yeah. My suggestion is to relocate the swtich, or replace it with an rf switch (receiver and transmitter, of course). Cheers, John

Unless your screen takes up your wall totally, it might be easier to move your switch outside the screen area on the same wall.

lutron makes rf dimmers, if you use ir just relocate the sensor. Are you planning on control by a universal type remote?

At this point moving the switch is still an option. An IR dimmer just seemed like a quicker fix with additional benefits. If I did go with an IR dimmer I would also plan on a universal remote that would have the capabilities to control the dimmer.

Although after doing some quick searches, it doesn't appear as though controlling an RF dimmer with a universal remote is as easy as it sounds (I could be wrong). Unless I go with a zwave/harmony combination but I don't want to limit myself to a Harmony remote.
