Velodyne was founded over 30 years ago as a hi-fi company. But it may be the technology behind self-driving cars that signals the road ahead for Velodyne. Today, Ford motor company is using a three-dimensional radar technology called LiDAR that was developed by the company that is better known for subwoofers than sensors.
