LG Plama?

Hello All,

Looking at buying an LG 60" 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV 60PS60. You can get them for a great deal now on newegg for around 1700 bucks. Any thoughts on the pros and cons to this setup?

I will be using this in a ground level basement where I have a lot of control over the light levels.

Viewing will be from about 12' away.

That doesn't seem like such a great deal to me.

You can easily get well-regarded 58inch plasmas from Samsung and Panasonic for less than that, and LG is generally considered a "budget brand".

Panasonic S1 58" is about $1500, however im not sure how it compares to LG

I have the LG 60PS60 and love it. I previously had a Samsung plasma, and was tempted to get another, but the LG still looks great and had a better price. I think Samsung has the best picture out there, and the LG was close. The only thing the LG cannot do as well is whites do not show as bright, they are a little more faded.

As mentioned, $1700 isnt too great of a price. Between the sales, cashback, price adjustments, and a mistake on Sears end, I wound up getting it for about $1050. Keep an eye out for the deals and you just might get one.
