LG LH4000 bricked after firmware update?

Hello!!

I've got a European LG LH4000 and brand new! I tried to update to the newer firmware version (3.40) flashing it over the usb connection. When I started upgrading and when the procedure was about to complete, the TV turned off and it's never been turned on since then. Even though the red stand by light is working, nothing else seems to work. Do you think I somehow bricked or damaged the TV? is a way to reverse-restore-reset the procedure back to factory settings? or somehow get it flash the original firmware?

You see, I am not even sure what to say to the place I bough it for ...

thank you in advance,

H.

I would first call LG and talk to tech support to see what the cause of the problem could be. Hopefully you will get somewhere by calling them. If that doesn't work out in your favor, I would call the place where you got the tv from and let them know what is going on. Hopefully you can get this resolved quickly so you can enjoy your tv. I'm guessing you purchased your tv from an authorized and reputable place so everything should go smoothly. Anyways I wish you the best, maybe some more knowledgeable members of this forum can help fix the problem or point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Tell if I am off on this one you tried the 3.15 hack to enable the usb port to watch mkv and xvid HD, and then you upgraded to 3.40 why not 3.55? If you did this hack and you send it to LG they will find out and will not honor the warranty because of the hack. So going through LG is out ,the only choice you have is to return it to where you bought if from and try to get it replaced. All hacks are at your own risk because things like this happen more often then people know. I hope the store will replace it for you good luck.

well,

I actually tried to upgrade to 3.55 - by mistake, I mentioned 3.40...

in any case I thought that the hack was not actually a "hack" that could cost me the warranty... I found out after doing it, while searching for a solution to my upgrade problem and reading all these forums...

thank you for the help!
