Greetings. Glad to find this forum. I bought a Velodyne sub (VRP-1000) and connected it to my Onkyo TX-SR601 receiver using the line level connection. I got VERY LITTLE volume out of the sub. Thinking it might be a bad cable, i bought a new cable but same problem. So I disconnected the LFE and connected the sub using the speaker level connections and it works like a champ. This tells me that I have everything set correctly within the receiver (speakers set to small, crossover @ 60Hz, subwoofer=Yes).
1) What are the drawbacks of hooking up the sub via speaker level jacks?
2) Would I get a better "quality" connection by hooking up via line level jacks instead of speaker level?
3) With speaker level connections, can i adjust my sub on the fly thru my receiver?
If going with the line level connection is the best way to go...any ideas on how to get my line level jack working?
Front speakers are KEF Q3.
Thanks,
Rocco.
